How it's counted
The count is today's date minus the date you pick, in whole calendar days. The start date isn't counted, so yesterday is 1 day ago and today is 0.
Weeks are the total divided by 7, with the remainder in days. Years, months and days follow the calendar, so a month is the span from one date to the same date next month, whatever its length.

Questions
- Does the count include today?
- No. It counts the days that have fully passed, so a date from yesterday shows 1 day. Add 1 if you want to count both the start date and today.
- Does it handle leap years and time changes?
- Yes. It counts calendar days, so February 29 and daylight saving changes don't throw it off.
- Can I keep a running count instead of checking again?
